Ward Night Recap: September 16, 2024
Thanks to everyone who attended our September 16 Ward Night. Here’s a brief summary of what we discussed:
Support for Unhoused Neighbors. Learn more about accelerated moving events (AMEs) here. Use 988 as a mental health resource for yourself and others. Contact info@the48thward.org for more information.
We are actively working to support our unhoused neighbors through partnership with DFSS and by supporting development of affordable housing. See and leave feedback open development projects here.
If you are aware of someone in the community who needs to be connected to resources, including housing, reach out to our office at 773-784-5277 or info@the48thward.org. These reports help us point the DFSS outreach teams in the right direction. DFSS outreach teams work in the ward every morning to connect unhoused neighbors to the resources they need.
CTA Efficiency. Please continue to share your feedback about CTA efficiecy and safety with our office. Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth uses this feedback to advocate for our community at City Hall. You can also share feedback directly with CTA here.
Shotspotter & General Public Safety Concerns. The 48th ward has never used shotspotter; public safety is our offic’s top priority, and we are committed to making effective use of other technologies as well as partnerships with community organizations, schools, and CPD to respond to safety concerns in high-risk parts of the ward. Please review our Safe 48 Health and Safety Plan here.
Participatory Budgeting. Voting for PB 2024 is open! Learn more about the projects and how to vote here.
48th Ward Green Council. The first meeting of the 48th Ward Green Council is this Saturday (September 21) from 11am-12:30pm at our office and on Zoom. Learn more and RSVP here.
Please note that our October 1 ward night has been moved to October 2 due to a scheduling conflict. Register for our October 2 ward night here.
