Participatory Budgeting (PB)
In the 48th ward, we use Participatory Budgeting (PB) to empower our community members to determine how to spend allocated funds — called “menu funds” — for ward infrastructure improvements.
PB is a democratic process in which community members decide how to spend $1 million towards permanent infrastructure improvements in our ward. It gives people real power over real money. Project ideas are generated and voted on by you: the community.
Voting is OPEN for PB 2026!
View the 2026 Participatory Budgeting ballot here. Cast your vote online here, or at one of four in-person voting sites:
48th Ward Office (1129 W Bryn Mawr)
Bezazian Library (1226 W Ainslie)
Edgewater Library (6000 N Broadway)
HAIBAYÔ Cafe (1132 W Argyle)
Voting is open Friday, January 30 - Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Join us for a 2026 PB Info Session on Wednesday, February 18.
