Thanks to everyone who attended our August 1 Ward Night. Here’s a brief summary of what we discussed:

  • Edgewater Environmental Coalition (EEC). EEC hosts monthly dune cleanups. Learn more about stewardship opportunities and other events here.

  • Support for Unhoused Neighbors. Learn more about accelerated moving events (AMEs) here. Use 988 as a mental health resource for yourself and others. Contact info@the48thward.org for more information.

    • We are actively working to support our unhoused neighbors through partnership with DFSS and by supporting development of affordable housing. See and leave feedback open development projects here.

  • New 20th and 24th District Commanders. Join us in welcoming Commander Beth Giltmier to the 20th District and Commander Alison Christian to the 24th Ditsrict. Learn more about our new police commanders here.

  • List Items in the 48th Ward Calendar and Newsletter. Use this form to submit items for inclusion in our community calendar and newsletter. Note that we reserve space in the newsletter for resources that are free/nearly free, in the ward, and relevant to a wide audience. We also keep our newsletter to a reasonable length by primarily relying on the community calendar to promote events. Submission to the form does not guarantee inclusion in our communications.

  • #BizOnBrynMawr. Learn about the new businesses that have popped up along Bryn Mawr since we opened our office here. Learn about the Bryn Mawr Task Force here.

  • Tree Trimming. Learn about the tree trimming grid system and how to report tree emergencies here.

  • Participatory Budgeting. Learn about the 48th ward participatory budgeting process here. Come to our Infrastructure Town Hall on August 14 for updates.

  • Property Tax & Reassessment Information. Learn about filing an appeal after property reassessment, claiming missing savings/exemptions, and upcoming property tax assistance opportunities here.

  • Democratic National Convention (DNC) Preparedness. The DNC is right around the corner (August 19-22). Learn about the city’s public safety plan here. Learn about how you can stay up to date here.

  • 48th Ward Office Responsiveness. We’re delighted to share that our team has maintained a call pick-up rate of greater than 95% since reevaluating our systems earlier this year. We want to hear from you! Contact our office via phone (773-784-5277), email (info@the48thward.org), in person (1129 W Bryn Mawr), or online services. View our hours here.
