Construction Updates: August 7, 2024
Please be advised of the following upcoming and ongoing construction in the ward:
"It works!" Green Alley Bounded by Wayne, Glenwood, Hollywood, and Bryn Mawr
Construction on the Green Alley bounded by Wayne, Glenwood, Hollywood, and Bryn Mawr is complete, and according to neighbors it's working to mitigate flooding! Thanks to the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) for making this project a reality and to neighbors in that area for your patience during construction. Completed! Berwyn Residential Lighting
CDOT has completed planned residential lighting improvements along Berwyn between Clark and Glenwood!
Current Sidewalk Improvement Projects
Please be advised of sidewalks improvements ataking place near the following addresses:

5353 N Kenmore Ave
1019 W Balmoral Ave
5244 N Wayne Ave
Traffic Circle at Wayne & Catalpa
The 48th ward office received updates that the landscaping on the traffic circle at Wayne & Catalpa needed to be remedied. CDOT has been in contact with their contractor, asking them to return and restore the planters. Thank you to residents who shared feedback on this project with our office. We will share updated project timelines as we receive them.
Kenmore Resurfacing
After multiple delays due to inclement weather, resurfacing work has resumed on Kenmore between Ainslie and Foster. See a progress picture above of the newly resurfaced road at Kenmore and Argyle. We will inform neighbors of any future delays or schedule changes.
Other Ongoing Projects
Resurfacing on Hollywood is still underway. We will share updates with neighbors as we receive them.
Later this year, construction will begin on the alley bounded by Victoria, Edgewater, Clark, and Ridge. Neighbors will receive an additional notice approximately one week before work begins.
