Construction Updates: July 10, 2024

Please be advised of the following upcoming and ongoing construction in the ward:

Completed Projects!

In the last week, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completed brick laying work on Argyle and painted new crosswalks at the Broadway/Bryn Mawr/Ridge intersection.

Have you seen any infrastructure improvements recently (sidewalk repairs, lighting fixes, alley aprons, etc)? Send us photos at comms@the48thward.org

Upcoming Alley Construction

Later this year, construction will begin on the alley bounded by Victoria, Edgewater, Clark, and Ridge. Neighbors will receive an additional notice approximately one week before work begins.

During construction:

  • Residential garbage will be curbside. Homeowners are asked to relocate cans to the front of the property.

  • There will be no alley access for approximately six weeks (depending on weather conditions).

  • Barricades will block all entrance to the alley. Residents are advised to seek alternative parking.

This project will be managed by the CDOT. For more information, please contact 312-722-6590.
