Construction Updates: July 3, 2024

Please be advised of the following upcoming and ongoing construction in the ward:

Sidewalk Repairs

The following addresses are sheduled for sidewalk repairs. According to CDOT, some of these addresses will require tree root care or pruning before work can begin on the sidewalks: 

  • 5000 N Marine Drive

  • 901-907 W Argyle

  • 1450 W Balmoral

  • 5649 N Magnolia

  • 5353 N Kenmore

  • 1019 W Balmoral

  • 5244 N Wayne Ave

Kenmore Resurfacing from Ainslie to Foster
Construction on Kenmore is set to resume during the second week of July. Thank you for your patience as the Chicago Department of Transportation completes this resurfacing work.

Hollywood Avenue Resurfacing
Resurfacing along Hollywood Avenue is ongoing. Work on the stretch of Hollywood from Ridge to Sheridan will begin July 24. We will share updates regarding potential lane shifts and closures as we receive them.

Update on the Green Alley Bounded by Wayne, Glenwood, Hollywood, and Bryn Mawr

The North and South, East-West Legs of alley construction are complete. The alley pavement is being replaced in three phases to reduce the impact of restricted access for the residents. Please see the projected schedule for the remaining phase below, weather permitting:

  • North-South Leg: 7/8/24 - 8/5/24

Garages in legs not currently under construction will be accessible. Please continue placing garbage cans at the front of the property until all the concrete work is complete. This project is managed by the Chicago Department of Transportation. If you require any additional information regarding this project, please contact 312-722-6590.
