Voting Information for the Nov 2024 Election

As Election Day approaches, your best resource for information about voting here in Chicago is the Chicago Board of Elections. Here are some important dates to know:

  • Sept 19, 2024: Sample ballots are available here.

  • Sept 26, 2024: Mail-in ballots are due to start going out. Learn about voting by mail here.

  • Oct 3, 2024: Early Voting begins downtown 7 days a week at at the Voting Supersite (191 N. Clark) and Board Offices (69 W. Washington St. - 6th Floor). Details here.

  • Oct 21, 2024: Early Voting begins in all 50 wards — here in the 48th ward, that’s at the Broadway Armory Park (5917 Broadway), but Chicago voters can vote at any Early Voting (EV) location. See all EV locations here.

  • Oct 31, 2024: The final day to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot. Details and application here.

  • Nov 5, 2024: Election Day – the final day to vote! Check your voter registration here for your local polling location. All EV locations are also open on that day.

Note: There is no “deadline” to register to vote in Illinois – Chicagoans can register on-site at any polling location, including on Election Day. Details here at the Chicago Board of Elections website about what you need to register.
