Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth has approved a zoning change request to allow for the development of a 3-story, 4-unit condominium building that would replace a former house of worship at 1527 W Edgewater. The applicant is requesting a zoning change from RS-3 to RM-4.5.

This project is compatible with the density of existing multi-family residential buildings found along Edgewater and in the surrounding area. The applicant will provide bike parking that accommodates cargo bikes and will include 4 car parking spaces. The applicant has also committed to replacing the concrete parkway in front of the property with grass parkway and a tree.

The zoning change has been reviewed by the 48th Ward Zoning Advisory Council and is supported by the Edgewater Triangle Neighborhood Association and Neighbors of Edgewater and Uptown.
