Fight for a greener world every month of the year by joining the 48th ward Green Council, a group of neighbors working to:

  1. Advise the alderwoman to support strong environmental policy

  2. Provide our community with the requisite education and resources for sustainable living

  3. Uplift the work of existing environmental organizations and initiatives

Whether you want to join a team and get to work or just come listen in on a meeting, you can sign up for our Green Council mailing list here. Our next meeting is TONIGHT! RSVP for our next meeting here

Edgewater Environmental Coalition logo

CONNECT WITH THE EDGEWATER ENVIRONMENTAL COALITION

The Edgewater Environmental Coalition (EEC) is a nonprofit organization in the 48th ward focused on building and maintaining a more sustainable future through action and advocacy. They're an all-volunteer group of community members and environmental stewards are deeply rooted in Edgewater — and branching out! Learn more about their organizationimpact, and projects, then get involved! Start by connecting to EEC newsletter and social feeds, and jumping into the conversation through group discussion forums. When you’re able and ready, you can take action by attending events, speaking out about environmental issues, and joining or proposing a project.

You can also attend upcoming monthly meetings, read about nature based solutions for shoreline erosion, and attend Hollywood Beach Stewardship and Vedgewater Community Garden Work Days.

Thanks to EEC for being leaders on sustainability in our neighborhood and throughout the city.
