What do you want the Broadway corridor to look like in 50 years? Draw us a picture to let us know!

This week, Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth introduced a series of zoning ordinances to City Council in an effort to right-size the zoning along Broadway. The ordinaces were developed to:

  • Support the success and expansion of new and existing businesses

  • Encourage transit-oriented development

  • Generate private investment on Broadway to improve housing affordability and quality of life along the corridor.

This legislation paves the way for development and investment, but it is still just the beginning. After all, development takes decades, not days. That's why we want to hear from you! When you think about Broadway decades from now, what do you see? Is your Broadway lined with green, affordable housing? A bustling retail scene? Pedestrian-safe streets and bike lanes? Trampoline crosswalks (as suggested by our local Tiger scouts)?

Draw us a picture of Your Broadway and submit it for the ward to see! Upload your creation online or bring a physical submission into the 48th ward office. Later this year, we'll vote on a winner. Physical drawings, digital art, and mixed media are all encouraged. AI generated art wil not be accepted.

We can't wait to see what you come up with!
