Please be advised of the following upcoming and ongoing construction in the ward:

Bryn Mawr Westbound Lane is Open

Street reconstruction is complete on Bryn Mawr underneath the CTA tracks restoring access to both the eastbound and westbound lanes! Thanks for your patience as the RPM crews worked on this expansive project and thanks to the RPM crews for their work to bring us one step closer to the completion of our new Red and Purple Line stations and tracks!

RPM Extended Road and Alley Closures

The following roads and alleys in the ward will be closed due to the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project:

SPECIAL NOTICE: ARGYLE STATION WORK AND STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENT
CTA has begun work in and around the new Argyle Red Line station in preparation for completing and opening the new station and tracks in 2025! Read below for impacts and reminders. See full details here.

Community Impacts:

  • December to end of year: Full street closure under the CTA tracks, followed by a closure of only the westbound lane until the end of the year. 

  • January through April: Approximately three Monday-Thursday periods of full street closures of Argyle. Other impacts include occasional traffic lane shifts, parking lane cllosures, and sidewalk closures. 

  • Summer 2025: Extended street closure for decorative street paver installation.

Support Small Businesses!
Small businesses along Argyle will remain open during this construction. Heavy construction can be an obstacle to business promotion and foot traffic, so be sure to show our Argyle businesses some love during the home stretch of the RPM project.
