Bryn Mawr Alliance Update: Mission, Subcommittees, & Engagement

The 48th ward is continuing its efforts for the revitalization of the Bryn Mawr corridor. We are happy to announce that Bryn Mawr Alliance has approved a mission statement and formed subcommittees to effectively set goals and advise the ward office on the development of Bryn Mawr.

Bryn Mawr Alliance Mission Statement

The mission of the Bryn Mawr Alliance is to collaborate with residents, small businesses, building owners, and interested stakeholders to further envision a thriving historic district Bryn Mawr. Through regular meetings, community engagement, blending the past with the future, and initiatives, the Bryn Mawr Alliance will look at all angles: infrastructure, opportunity sites, proactive development, and equitable public safety to ensure the future, charm, and sustainability of the national historic commercial corridor.

Bryn Mawr Alliance Subcommittees

The Bryn Mawr Alliance has identified 5 key subcommittees:

  1. Development & Infrastructure: Identifying infrastructure needs and implementation for a thriving local commercial corridor

  2. Economic Development: Identifying funding opportunities for small businesses, and look at best practices from other commercial corridors

  3. Community Engagement: Engaging residents, community members, small businesses already on Bryn Mawr on what it could/should look like

  4. Arts & Historic Preservation: How can we promote the story of the historic district?

  5. Branding & Advertising: Continuing to Build the brand of the retail district
