Connecting Communities on Broadway: Meeting Recap

typography reading connecting communities on broadway: an open house about land use planning

On Monday, October 7, our office hosted an open house with the Department of Planning & Development (DPD), the 46th ward, and the 47th ward to discuss priorities and goals for land use on Broadway from Devon to Montrose.

Broadway is a busy commercial street along the CTA Red Line that connects the communities of the north lakefront to transportation, open space, community services and essential businesses. This land use planning effort builds upon other recent planning efforts in Uptown and Edgewater, focussing on expectations for new development and alignment with community goals. This effort is timely, as CTA’s Red and Purple Modernization construction will soon be complete and construction staging sites will become available for redevelopment.
