Bob New Hart Way - Honorary Street Naming Ceremony
Date: Friday, September 5
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Sheridan & Thorndale
Join us in honoring the life and legacy of Bob Newhart. Newhart was a beloved American comedian who graduated from Loyola University after growing up in Chicago's Austin community.
"The Bob Newhart Show" was the first major sitcom set in Chicago. He is remembered for his love fo the Chicago Cubs and for being a Chicago ambassador to Hollywood, with his "Midwest nice" demeanor setting him apart in the cutthroat world of show business.
The honorary street will be located at Bob Newhart's "home" on The Bob Newhart show, the Thorndale Beach South condominium building, at 5901 N Sheridan Road. The building is widely recognized for its prominence in the program.
See our press release about the resolution to designate 5800-5930 N Sheridan Road as “Bob Newhart Way” here.
