1353 W Devon: Zoning Change Decision
After careful consideration, Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth has decided not to support the zoning change request for 1353 W Devon.
The applicant requested a zoning change from B3-2 to B2-3 to allow the conversion of 2,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space into 1 residential dwelling unit with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Because Devon Avenue is a vital commercial corridor and converting significant commercial building frontage along Devon Avenue to a residential use would be incompatible with the long-term vision of the Elevate Devon Corridor Plan, Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth does not support this zoning change request.
