SOMEWHERE TO SHOP - QIDEAS - 1134 W Argyle

Opened in 2002, this 2nd gen AAPI family business was established by an immigrant family that arrived in Uptown in 1980's after the Vietnam War. Qideas offers a wide range of plants including citrus trees, jasmine bushes and bonsai plants at affordable prices. Ellen Duong has recently renovated to create a shared third space on Argyle for events. Qideas also offers a wide range of gifts and goods from small AAPI businesses and will be hosting evening and weekend events in the space soon.

SOMEWHERE TO EAT - LITTLE VIETNAM - 1132 W Bryn Mawr

Little Vietnam opened in 2011 and has been a staple of the community since. Catch them any time between 10 AM-9:30 PM and enjoy their handmade Vietnamese food and their great Vietnamese coffee.

SOMETHING TO DO - SCHOOL OF ROCK ANDERSONVILLE - 5600 N Ridge

School of Rock has multiple locations including in the 48th ward! Students ages 4-18 learn how to play music with skill and confidence through private lessons combined with rehearsal instruction in drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, vocals, and even ukulele - all rooted in a supportive and encouraging community. Every student experiences performing at notable venues in the area such as Empty Bottle, Chop Shop, Subterranean, Martyr's and Reggie's Rock Club!
