Modern Accessible CTA Stations are Open!

After years of construction, progress and patience, the day we’ve been waiting for is here! The brand-new, modern, accessible Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Argyle, and Lawrence stations are officially open! The four new stations come equipped with exciting new features, including:

• Full ADA accessibility

• Escalators and elevators

• Wider platforms

• Brighter lighting and improved security

• Real-time travel information displays

In 2020, CTA began the ambitious and historic journey to modernize our 100-year-old stations and elevated tracks to improve service, invest in our community, and generate inclusive economic growth across our city. Five years later, this is much more than a station opening — it’s a celebration of community and an important milestone for our city’s public transit infrastructure. We got here together.
