More than 90 percent of Chicagoans are protected from Measles by the highly-effective MMR vaccine. If your child has received their childhood vaccines, they are likely protected against Measles. If you have questions about whether or not you or your family have received the measles vaccine, please contact your healthcare provider. If your children have received vaccines in the state of Illinois, you can also check the status of your vaccines by using the Illinois Department of Public Health Vax Verify tool. Please also make sure that your students’ vaccine records are up-to-date at their school.

For those who need it, CDPH provides MMR vaccinations free of charge to adults who qualify for Medicaid and children who qualify for the Vaccines For Children program at multiple health clinics across Chicago.
