48th ward green council typed in lowercase font

The 48th ward Green Council is a group of neighbors who come together to support sustainability work happening in our community, help educate our neighbors on environmental issues/initiatives, and discuss local policy. Our work is split into three categories, each with a dedicated team director:

  1. Engagement: The engagement team plans community events, supports the engagement work of other local organizations, and coordinates with the 48th ward Zoning Advisory Council on participatory budgeting as it relates to sustainability.

  2. Education: The education team brainstorms and creates educational materials for our office to share via social media and our newsletter. As this work involves community outreach, many efforts are shared between the education and engagement subcommittees.

  3. Policy: The policy team stays abreast of local sustainability policy, meets with organizations proposing new policy, and offers sustainability policy advice to the alderwoman.

Want to get involved? Please fill out this form to tell us about yourself and we’ll add you to the mailing list! You can also look out for meeting announcements in our weekly newsletter and on our public calendar.

Please reach out to audrey@the48thward.org with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
