48th WARD GREEN COUNCIL: FIRST MEETING RECAP

Thanks to everyone who came to our December 5 Green Council meeting! Read on for a brief summary of what we discussed and worked on:

  • BUDGET DISCUSSION

    • When we met, budget hearings were still ongoing. We discussed the current budget proposals and went over what happened in the hearings for relevant departments including DoE, OEMC, DSS, CDOT, and more.

    • Since our December meeting, City Council has passed a budget for 2025. Read about it here.

  • REVIEW OF 2024 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

    • Though we began meeting just a few months ago, it’s important to celebrate what we’ve already accomplished. Review the presentation of our 2024 wins here.

    • Engagement Survey: among these wins was the finalization of an Engagement Survey. We want to hear from 48th ward neighbors about their experiences with and goals for sustainable action. We’ll use the responses from this survey to guide our work. Take the survey here.

  • NEW TECH OVERVIEW

    • We’re getting organized and have settled on some options for communicating and file sharing. In our meeting, we walked through how to use these technologies.

  • GOAL SETTING FOR 2025

    • At the end of the meeting we spent some time discussing themes, projects, and team structures for our work in 2025. It was a great way to end our final meeting of the year.
