text reads ward night 1st and 15th of the month. Includes Leni's logo and contact information

Thanks to everyone who attended our July 15 Ward Night. Here’s a brief summary of what we discussed:

1. DEVELOPMENT PROCESS: Visit our website to read more about our process, view current projects, and submit feedback.

2. BLOCK CLUBS: Want to join your local block club? See a map of them here.

3. TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR CYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS: Please continue reporting specific concerns to our office and 311. Reach out to us to let us know where you’d like to see more bike racks or other infrastructure. If you notice an unsafe situation, such as someone standing in the middle of a busy street, please call 911. You can also contact our office so that we can help connect people to the services they need.

4. KENMORE RESURFACING: Resurfacing on Kenmore has been paused due to inclement weather and should resume soon. Keep an eye out for no parking signs and stay tuned into our newsletter where we’ll update the neighborhood as we receive new information.

5. PARTICIPATORY BUDGETING: Learn about our participatory budgeting process here. Thanks to the many neighbors who participated in our PB community meetings earlier this year! We’ll share next steps in future newsletters. Contact development@the48thward.org with questions.

6. SUPPORT FOR UNHOUSED NEIGHBORS/FOLKS LIVING IN TENTS: Our office firmly believes that housing is a human right. We are committed to providing shelter and essential services, such as detox services and identification services, and more to those in need. Read a recent update from our office here. Contact our office or 311 to report issues such as litter. Contact 911 if you notice a threat to someone’s safety.

8. TRASH CANS: Please contact our office to give specific locations where you’d like to see public trash cans. If you notice an excess of trash or litter in a particular area, report it to 311. Contact our office with the report number if you need additional assisstance.

9. KENMORE SAFETY: We’d like to remind folks to report crime to 911 and to come to community safety meeting to join the conversation about how to make our ward safer. Public safety is our office's top priority. Our Safe 48 Health and Safety Plan focuses on coordination and collaboration across government agencies, community-based organizations, and neighbors. Read it here. We are working with the police districts and their commanders to respond to concerns about the 6000 block of N Kenmore. Contact info@the48thward.org with any questions.
