Ald. Manaa-Hoppenworth Cosponsors Resolution Calling for an Assessment of the Impact of the Impending Trump Administration on city resources.

On December 1, Ald. Manaa-Hoppenworth signed onto a resolution encouraging city departments to assess and prepare for the impact of the impending Trump Administration on city resources.

Chicago’s residents and institutions faced challenges as a result of the first Trump administration, including strained municipal resources, increased community fear, and legal battles to protect our LGBTQIA+ community, reproductive rights, immigrants community, environmental safeguards, and the principle of separation between church and state across our instituttions, and a second Trump administration presents a renewed threat to the rights, safety, and values that define Chicago as a welcoming and progressive city.

The resolution outlines the actions that city departments and agencies are encouraged to take to assess the impacts of the second Trump administration and prepare for them. Read it in full here.
