Plow the Sidewalks Pilot Program to Coming to Uptown!

The Chicago City Council passed the Chicago Plow the Sidewalks Pilot Program Ordinance by a vote of 48 to 1 in July 2023 to provide plowing services for snow and ice-covered sidewalks in certain regions of the city. Later this year, the pilot program is coming to Uptown!

We're thrilled to be bringing this important safety and accesibility service to our neighbors this winter, and we hope to expand it to the rest of the ward and throughout the city in the future. Read more about the Plow the Sidewalks Pilot Program on our blog. 

Partners including Access Living, Better Streets Chicago, AARP – Illinois, Active Transportation Alliance, and many more made recommendations on proposed locations and came up with West Side, Southwest Side, South Side, and North Side pilot zones.
