Elise Malary Way Street Naming Ceremony

The 48th ward office co-sponsored an ordinance to install an honorary “Elise Malary Way” street sign at Clark & Catalpa. Elise Malary was a founding member of the Chicago Therapy Collective and a dedicated LGBTQ+ activist who died in March 2022.

The dedication commemorates the impact Elise had on her neigborhood and city, which she loved and fought for fiercely. It’s also a call for all of us to continue her work to advocate for Black Trans Women and other vulnerable members of our community because we all deserve a safe home where we can thrive.

We hope you’ll join us, Chicago Therapy Collective, and other community organizations and neighbors for the street naming ceremony on Friday, March 29 which would’ve been Elise’s 34th birthday. The ceremony will be followed by a celebration across the street at Pizza Lobo hosted by Chicago Therapy Collective. RSVP required.
