Pick Up Eclipse Glasses at the 48th Ward Office

Stop by the 48th ward office at 1129 W Bryn Mawr to pick up a pair of eclipse glasses while supplies last! The total solar eclipse is happening on April 8, 2024. While Chicago isn’t in the path of totality, it’s still a rare astrological phenomenon worth seeing, and you can still damage your eyes if you aren’t careful!

In Illinois, the eclipse is expected to be visible at 1:58pm. You can see it by stepping outdoors somewhere near you with a clear view of the sky, or by going to a community event such as the viewing party at the Adler Planetarium or one of the many museum-hosted events in the city.
