6240-50 N Broadway: Zoning Change Request Decision
Please review the following statement from Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth:
After careful consideration, I have decided to support a temporary zoning change request for 6240-50 N Broadway from B1-2 to C2-3. The applicant, North Shore Auto Rebuilders, wants to provide indoor lounge and office space for employees and indoor parking space for serviced cars.
The applicant has followed the zoning and development process, met with neighborhood organizations, and attended community meetings. They’ve also demonstrated their commitment to this community through beautification measures to their buildings, street sweeping and plowing, and continued efforts to mitigate emissions/pollutants.
The temporary zoning change will allow North Shore Auto Rebuilders to seek permits while also continuing the efforts of the Connecting Communities on Broadway initiative. I want to thank our neighbors and community for submitting feedback, and look forward to continuing our efforts to make the 48th ward an ideal destination for all who want to work, live, and do business.
