Event Recap: 48th Ward Small Business Roundtable

Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth speaking at the Small Business Roundtable

The 48th Ward was proud to host a Small Business Roundtable on March 5 at Sun Wah BBQ. In collaboration with the Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC), Uptown United, the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, and the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, the 48th ward gathered small businesses from around the ward to discuss some of the pressing issues that our entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations are facing today.

We talked about issues surrounding small business renters: hardships with property and landlord relationships, lack of resources and support during times of emergencies, and transparency surrounding grant and capital allocation initiatives.

The 48th ward will follow up with the SBAC and our chambers of commerce to translate these discussions into actionable steps to further advocate for our small businesses in the ward.
