Open LSC Positions at Senn and Peirce
Senn High School and Peirce Elementary are looking for dedicated stakeholders to serve on their Local School Councils (LSCs). Comprised of parents, community, educational, and student members, LSCs serve as an important vehicle for participatory democracy, providing a wide variety of stakeholders an opportunity to make important decisions about how students in their communities will be educated. LSCs are responsible for approving the school’s academic plan, approving budgetary resources, evaluating the principal, and selecting or renewing contract principals. The term of service begins as soon as the candidate is voted in by the current LSC and ends in June 2026.
The Senn LSC has a vacant Parent Representative position. Candidates must be the parent or guardian of a current Senn student. Reach out to Ms. May at mmmay@cps.edu if you would like an application. The next Senn LSC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13 at 6pm, during which interested candidates will be invited to make a statement.
